To ensure that UTZ standards are being effectuated, each year independent controllers verify certified tea estates in the countries of origin. The UTZ rules define specific product standards, being guide lines for the chain of distribution and the accurate certification system.

UTZ campaigns for the benefit of agriculturalists (farmers) and their families. In addition they are increasing productiveness, quality of produced products and efficiency in respect to humans and their environment.

The consumer is able to track the product chain back to the country of origin through retrace ability and a transparent system. Simultaneously they contribute to a sustainable world.

Fair trade

All companies participating in fair trade are regularly inspected. In the countries of origin the international Fairtrade Labelling Organization (FLO) safeguards adherence to respective criteria. In Germany TransFair e.V supervises awarding the fair-trade seal. Consumers and producers alike benefit from fair trade. The consumers receive products which are planted in an environmentally friendly manner and are inspected. The producers receive a fair price as well as an additional fair trade bonus which is invested in ecological and social projects.
J.Fr. Scheibler offers increasingly more FAIRTRADE tea.

USDA label

Congress passed the Organic Foods Production Act (OFPA) of 1990. The OFPA required the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) to develop national standards for organically produced agricultural products to assure consumers that agricultural products marketed as organic meet consistent, uniform standards. The NOP is a marketing program housed within the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. Neither the OFPA nor the NOP regulations address food safety or nutrition.
